Hospira, Inc. has named Thomas E. Werner senior vice president, finance, and chief financial officer. Most recently, Mr. Werner served as senior vice president, finance, and chief financial officer of Bowe Bell & Howell, a service, manufacturing and software company that provides document processing and postal solutions. Prior to joining BBH in late 2001, he was chief financial officer for two publicly traded companies: Xpedior Inc., a software developer and integrator, and uBid, Inc., an e-commerce company. He also served as corporate controller for Gateway, Inc. Earlier in his career, he held various financial roles at Baxter Healthcare Corp. and American Hospital Supply Corp.

Mr. Werner succeeds Terrence C. Kearney, who recently became Hospira’s first chief operating officer. Mr. Kearney’s new role focuses on the company’s day-to-day global operations.
